Working closely with Doris Dev’s engineering teams and global sourcing capabilities, Doris Design maintains control over the intent and outcome of every project. About the role

We are seeking an Industrial Designer who can:

Confidently present in client meetings, ensuring each client has an exceptional, fun, relevant, and energizing experience;
Demonstrate world-class form and aesthetic-driven skills;
Understand the interplay of form and function to design products with a clear ‘reason to exist’;
Work within brand guidelines and create products that integrate seamlessly into existing consumer ecosystems;
Navigate the design process from brief to project handoff with ease;
Collaborate with clients, engineers, and suppliers at every stage of product development;
Desire to refine designs even after handoff.

Responsibilities

Lead a design project from start to finish;
Interface directly with clients and the Director of Industrial Design to bring projects to life;
Work with US, Hong Kong, and Chinese team members to develop great products within program constraints;
Manage the design process from concept through production with the director.

Requirements

At least two (2) years of experience as an industrial designer producing work of the highest quality (internships and co-op experience included);
Experience working with a relevant design consultancy or studio;
Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to lead;
Passion for design and innovation, using design as a strategic business tool;
Strong aesthetic sense with the proven ability to manifest a vision and brand in a way that stimulates the senses and emotions;
Outstanding verbal presentation skills, comfortable presenting to C-level executives;
Advanced expertise in CAD modeling, rendering, and illustration using software such as Rhino, Onshape, Solidworks, Keyshot, and Photoshop.

Bonus Points

Direct experience working with overseas suppliers and manufacturing partners;
Prior design studio experience that brings a fresh global perspective to industrial design practice.

Schedule

This is a full-time, fully in-office position based at our Brooklyn studio, Monday through Friday. Occasional meetings may be scheduled outside of standard 9–5 hours due to coordination with the DDHK office. Doris Dev does not offer remote, hybrid, or work-from-home arrangements for this role.
