About the Role
Kinsley is seeking a qualified Concrete Working Foreman/Concrete Worker to support our growing Industrial team, based out of our York, PA office, with travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Kinsley will provide hotels and transportation for required work-related travel.
The Concrete Working Foreman is responsible for directing and coordinating activity associated with the construction of the project and must have the ability to lead by example, motivate crew members, and efficiently manage the job. A Concrete Worker includes form carpenters, rebar placement, and concrete placement. Our work includes deep foundations, complicated machine foundations, quarry foundations, and heavy industrial structural renovations. Concrete finishing experience is preferred.
Kinsley offers an Incentive Zone Pay program for hourly field employees, providing additional hourly compensation based on the distance traveled from an employee’s home address to the job site (up to $5.00/hour), on top of base wages. This position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Concrete Working Foreman
- Effectively lead, manage, and motivate crews of 3 to 6 individuals
- Plan and schedule necessary manpower, tools, materials, and equipment needed to complete the job
- Complete daily timesheets and maintain daily logs
- Ensure job sites are safe by implementing safe work practices
- Ensure job sites and work practices follow OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations
- Delegate responsibilities and individual tasks to crew members
- Oversee and train new crew members
- Communicate and report job status effectively
- Utilize instruments for precise layout as needed
- Communicate and interface with clients, maintaining Kinsley’s reputation as a first-rate contractor
- Read drawings, plans, and blueprints, and convey this information to others
- Identify and research adequate resources, labor, and equipment to complete projects efficiently
- Operate general construction equipment such as skid steers, excavators, telehandlers, etc.
- Set complex forms ensuring correct and high-quality finished product
- Install and oversee the installation of reinforcing rebar or mesh wire
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required
Concrete Worker
- Use and/or assist with instruments for precise layout
- Perform excavation and backfill
- Non-CDL truck driving is required
- Perform formwork, placement of anchor bolts, and placement of embeds
- Perform placement of rebar
- Perform placement of concrete including large mass pours, foundations, formed piers, formed walls, supported slabs, and small areas of slab on grade
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required
Requirements
Concrete Working Foreman
- 5+ years experience directing a concrete crew is required
- Basic computer skills required
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and manipulating things
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods in unfavorable weather conditions
- Must have transportation to get to assigned job sites
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening
- Must be willing to travel out of town for some jobs, some may require overnight stay
- Must have extensive experience with horizontal concrete, vertical concrete, and machine foundations
Concrete Worker
- 3-5 years of experience is required
- Comprehension of construction drawings is required
- Must be familiar with all means of placement and curing of concrete
- Must be able to operate manual transmissions
- Current driver’s license is required
- Must be familiar with or willing to learn OSHA and MSHA safety regulations
- Willingness to multitask and strong communications skills are required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical with a drug/alcohol test
- Strong math skills are required
