Industrial Business Support and Development Manager Large Projects – West Region
About the role
The Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Development Manager (BDM) Large Projects supports the development of the Medium Voltage product portfolio as a liaison to and supporting the sales force in the West region of the United States for the Industrial markets. The position focuses on support and development of the EA product portfolio for large projects and sales support in the region resulting in profitable growth of EA product sales in the region.
Responsibilities
- Support and drive profitable sales growth of the MV portfolio.
- Proactively plan, create demand, influence specifications, target & penetrate accounts, drive promotional activities, work and sell collaboratively, create budget proposals, manage an opportunity pipeline, perform customer presentations, and handle numerous other business development and sales related activities.
- Heavy emphasis on specification and account influence of all stakeholders for large projects to drive EA towards a preferential position with a key focus on overall Electrical System Design.
- Act as a business unit liaison and support both the Industrial Infrastructure Sales (IIS) and Electrical Infrastructure Sales (EIS) Account Managers who directly call on and manage End Users, Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms, Electrical Contractors, and Channel partners.
- Help guide the Business Units by providing marketing advice and leadership to ensure overall market effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 5-10+ years of experience with power distribution systems or intense product knowledge of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage Switchgear and Motor Control Centers
- A thorough understanding of and experience in working with all types of MV power electrical distribution systems including electrical system architecture, protective relaying, control schemes, and equipment designs and applications
- Ability to effectively conduct hands-on demonstrations of the equipment
- Ability to effectively conduct product training to Sales
- Experience working with clients at executive, engineering, and operations levels
- Experience with both End User as well as EPC firms
- Ability to make detailed product presentations to customers and EPCs is a must
- High self-motivation, a self-starter, and can effectively work in an organizational matrix environment
- A “Hunter’s” drive and motivation to win orders (this is not an account maintenance role)
- Experience with contract negotiations
- Willingness to travel from 50-75% of the time including some international travel
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications:

Pay
The pay range for this position is $122,951 - $210,773 annually with a target incentive of 25% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
