Industrial & Automotive Manufacturing Engineering Manager

This role aligns to Industry X’s Manufacturing & Operations practice. Manufacturing & Operations professionals help clients achieve digital transformation within their core manufacturing and operations throughout the full lifecycle of their assets. With domain expertise across consulting and technology, they unlock new sources of opex and capex efficiency and effectiveness.
Manufacturing Consultants define and design the future state of manufacturing companies, including organizational, operational, and technical models to modernize core operations across EHS, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Operational/Manufacturing Excellence functions. The role involves digitizing plants, sites, and centers by scaling cross-facility operations, leveraging AI, IoT, automation, wearables, and predictive analytics to optimize multi-site plants, improve production reliability, product quality, worker safety, and sustainable operations.
Responsibilities
- Support delivery of Industrial and Automotive reinvention, focusing on large-scale manufacturing engineering initiatives, including transformation of brownfield plants, design of greenfield plants, and preparation for new product launches.
- Apply understanding of manufacturing and supply chain value levers specific to industrial and automotive environments, including implementation of digital, AI, and physical automation technologies.
- Focus on automating and transforming material flow inside industrial and automotive plants.
- Manage projects or workstreams end-to-end, including scope, planning, risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes while adapting to evolving client priorities.
- Build and apply industry, functional, and technical knowledge to support client conversations, solution development, and delivery of innovative manufacturing-led ways of working.
- Lead and coordinate diverse, global Accenture teams, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and quality oversight while leveraging AI and digital tools to improve delivery effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships at the manager, director, and senior director levels through clear communication, structured problem-solving, and delivery credibility.
- Collaborate across Accenture’s Supply Chain & Engineering team to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions spanning manufacturing operations, platforms, and supply chain.
- Contribute to manufacturing-focused thought leadership, including client-ready materials, points of view, and case examples related to manufacturing transformation, lifecycle integration, and product launch readiness.
- Develop and maintain awareness of the Industrial and Automotive ecosystem, including key platforms, vendors, and emerging capabilities relevant to operations and execution.
- Support the evolution of Accenture’s Manufacturing reinvention offerings, with opportunities to grow into broader capability, account, or portfolio leadership roles.

Travel may be required for this role, ranging from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as part of a team focused on manufacturing engineering and material flow in automotive and industrial manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale design and implementation of material delivery routes, simulations, ergonomic considerations, IT/OT integration, PFEP, and business case considerations when deploying automated mobile robots (AMRs).
- Expertise with vendors, risk considerations, and technologies in this space is critical.
Qualifications
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with shop floor change management, performance improvement, business case, and value management.
- Understanding of related ERP modules.
- Understanding of Plant Control Systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, etc.).
- Experience with simulation in factory environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 8 years’ work experience). An industrial or engineering degree is preferred.
Pay
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Below are the annual salary ranges for this role by location:
- California: $94,400 to $293,800
- Cleveland: $87,400 to $235,000
- Colorado: $94,400 to $253,800
- District of Columbia: $100,500 to $270,300
- Illinois: $87,400 to $253,800
- Maine: $80,400 to $216,200
- Maryland: $94,400 to $253,800
- Massachusetts: $94,400 to $270,300
- Minnesota: $94,400 to $253,800
- New York: $87,400 to $293,800
- New Jersey: $100,500 to $293,800
- Virginia: $87,400 to $270,300
- Washington: $100,500 to $270,300
