Industrial Automation Engineer
About the role
You will provide engineering/technical support, and training on automation and control related products to both internal and external customers of Crescent Electric Supply Company and associate banners. You will also be responsible for achieving automation and control sales budget for assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the strategic business plan, in conjunction with the Suppliers and CESCO management, to support market share growth objectives for Automation and Control Vendors.
- Provide advanced and comprehensive technical support for Key Automation and Control Products.
- Launch new Automation and Control products to sales personnel within the assigned territory. This includes product training, competency with demo equipment, and target account identification.
- Maintain and program appropriate demo equipment inventory for the assigned territory.
- Develop, implement, and demonstrate customer proof of concepts to support upcoming projects.
- Participate in identified training activities and in required Key Automation and Control Vendor training requirements.
- Attend branch/company meetings and events as required.
- Overnight travel may be necessary up to 20 percent.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel often in the assigned territory and occasionally travel to attend company and vendor activities and events.
- Bachelor's or technical degree in engineering from four-year college or university, and/or 5 to 10 years of appropriate experience.
- Have in-depth knowledge of Automation and Control products inclusive of but not limited to: Variable Frequency Drives, PLCs, Motion Control, SCADA Software, HMI, Networking, Sensors and Motor Control.
- The ability to establish relationships with employees, suppliers, and customers.
