About the role

Support the special services critical case liaison and campus staff with the supervision and organization of supporting documentation needed for the Texas Education Agency mediation and due process hearings related to students receiving special education services.

Analyze data to problem-solve and make recommendations to campus staff involving the delivery of special education services and ensuring compliance of federal and state regulations.

Plan improvement opportunities and provide instructional support and resources of state and local assessments for students with disabilities.

Supervise and evaluate assigned special services staff as determined by district guidelines.

Provide training and technical support to special services and campus staff on various topics as it relates to compliance, procedures, instruction, and transportation.

Monitor and support staffing and supplement resources.

Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Education or a related field required.
  • Master's degree from an accredited university in Education or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in special education or related field required.
  • LSSP and/or Educational Diagnostician license required.

  • Expert knowledge of special education laws, policies, and trends.
  • Strong organizational and operational planning, leadership, and management skills.
  • Concise and professional communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage staff and budgets.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with a diverse community to achieve productive, cooperative program outcomes for special needs students.
