Job Summary The Indirect Tax Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Tax and be responsible for Foreign and US indirect taxes Job Duties Oversight on US Sales/Use tax compliance and reporting/forecastingOversight on US Property tax compliance and reporting / forecasting for US repair plantsPreparation of annual property tax compliance on our fleet and the projection of annual taxesResponsible for preparation/review of monthly GST/HST tax filings in CanadaReview fixed asset reconciliations & organize results to assist with rendition fleet prep & foreign complianceAssist with Canadian tax reporting with outside consultants, including 'direct' tax complianceAssist with audit request for information on various entitiesResearch into US and Foreign tax regulations to facilitate compliance with foreign indirect tax issuesAssist with ERP improvements for tax computations and reportingProcess tax payments and provide forecasts for TreasuryPerform data analysis on plant vendors and reporting, including exemption certificatesManage audits and refund claims regarding Sales/Use or property taxesAssist with Transfer Pricing reviews in Canada and EuropeAssist with foreign bank account reporting Experience And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accountingProfessional knowledge in Sales / Use tax processes and Property taxesExposure to Canadian GST/HST taxes and a willingness to learn moreSAP experience a plusMS Office and Advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables/ sumifs/ vlookups)Strong Organizational skillsPays attention to detail / workpaper documentationMust be a team player and work well with the groupGood communicationWillingness to learn other areas of tax to support team growth and deadlines This is a general description of the Duties, Responsibilities and Qualifications required for this position.
