About the Role

As an Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) Business Analyst, you will work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with a talented team in support of a client in Tallahassee, FL. This role involves monitoring and evaluating software development and system modernization activities for a state-wide implementation effort.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior project support using industry best practices, process improvement knowledge, and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Exercise strong written and oral communication skills, multitask effectively, and demonstrate excellent follow-through.
  • Provide client-facing support during the implementation of new software.
  • Assist in completing all contract deliverables, including written project status reports.
  • Develop and manage the process of verifying that system and software products comply with customer requirements and design.
  • Collaborate with the project team, including the State Agency Project Team, Project Manager, Design Development and Implementation Contractor, and Project Support Services Contractor.
  • Review software vendor deliverables (e.g., design specifications) for accuracy, completeness, and correctness, ensuring decisions from Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) meetings are included.
  • Identify, analyze, and document software development process breakdowns and develop recommendations for process improvement.
  • Review quality control processes and identify areas needing improvement.
  • Monitor project activity related to SDLC processes (e.g., requirements gathering, testing, project management, vendor oversight), provide real-time observations, and document issues/risks for the project testing approach based on industry standards.
  • Report to and take direction from the Project Manager (PM).
  • Participate in business development by identifying new opportunities and assisting with proposal development.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in business analysis, project management, IV&V, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Experience and knowledge of IT industry standards and best practices (e.g., PMBOK, IEEE, Agile, NIST).
  • Risk Management and IT Governance experience.
  • Issue identification and mitigation experience.
  • Experience with enterprise IT implementations, particularly in corrections, security, or military contexts.
  • Strong client presentation skills and the ability to respond to dynamic client feedback.
  • Experience scheduling and leading IT meetings and coordinating technology and staff resources.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Residency in or near Tallahassee, FL.
  • Experience providing consulting services to a state of Florida government client or agency.
  • Experience with enterprise transformation or modernization.
  • Understanding of Project Management Institute (PMI) principles and methodologies.

Pay

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Greentree adheres to federal, state, and local regulations regarding compensation. Bonuses include an employee referral bonus and performance-based bonuses tied to individual contributions and company performance.

Schedule

Full-time role with flexible/hybrid working schedules available.

Location: Candidates must be residents of and authorized to work in one of the following states: AZ, CO, DC, FL, GA, KY, MD, MI, NC, OH, OR, PA, SD, TX, or VA.
