About the Independent Project Minor

Revelle College offers students interested in a specific period or topic the opportunity to create their own minor. Your Independent Project Minor must be planned in consultation with and approved by a department of your choice.

Requirements

• The Independent Project Minor must consist of seven courses (28 units), of which five courses (20 units) must be upper division.
• In general, lower division courses must be taken for a letter grade. Some exceptions for P/NP grading option will be accepted.
• All upper division courses must be taken for a letter grade.

Application Process

Submit the completed petition to Revelle Advising with the following attachments:

• A Statement of Purpose defining the objective(s) and scope of your minor.
• A Quarter-by-Quarter Plan listing the courses proposed for your minor. Consult department websites or advisors to confirm course offerings and availability. Include alternative courses to allow for scheduling flexibility or unforeseen circumstances.
