About the role

The Cluster for Nucleic Acid Sciences and Technologies (NUCLEATE) invites applications for Independent Group Leaders (f/m/d) (TV-L E15) positions within the NUCLEATE Excellence Cluster. This cluster, established in 2026, aims to unite internationally recognized research in nucleic acid sciences and technologies across multiple universities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internationally competitive research
• Participate in collaborative research activities, scientific exchange, training programs, and networking opportunities
• Engage in teaching and training of early-career researchers
• Advance nucleic acid research across experimental, technological, computational, or translational domains

Requirements

• A doctoral degree in life sciences, computer sciences, pharmacy, or medicine
• An outstanding publication record
• International research experience
• A strong commitment to nucleic acid research

Qualifications

• At an early stage of your scientific career, with no more than four years elapsed since the award of your doctoral degree (or seven years in the field of medicine)
• Outstanding publication record

• Ability to contribute to the scientific activities of the NUCLEATE Cluster
• Active pursuit of third-party funding
• Engagement with local and international research networks

Pay

The positions are paid according to the pay scale for the public sector (TV-L E15).

Schedule

The appointments are initially made for five years and may be extended by one additional year, subject to evaluation and funding regulations.
