Job Duties & Tasks
- Direct and coordinate production, processes, and distribution.
- Celebrate production control activities within the facility to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished.
- Review production schedules and orders to make decisions regarding inventory and staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.
- Review production or process issues with the Production Control Manager, Work with Human Resources to hire, train, evaluate, and resolve employee concerns and/or grievances, and ethically process terminations.
- Manage and maintain labor overtime costs within production department, Prepare and maintain production control reports.
- Work with Production Control Manager to establish and manage standards to improve material flow and layout for development events and new vehicle projects.
- Collaborate with team leads on department activities and employee engagement, Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Aid in developing and implementing production tracking to detect production problems.
- Work with Production Control Manager to implement and maintain various programs such as preventative maintenance; environmental, health and safety; training; and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to new employees and/or assign employees for training.
- Observe workflow and processes, and other indicators to ensure operators conform to production, processing, and/or quality standards.
- Provide direction, development, and leadership to floor associates.
Qualifications
- Able to start/stop production of Hyundai Transys GA Seating System Savannah facility.
- Able to discipline employees, hire & terminate employees with HR approval, Able to schedule necessary changes with production, logistics, materials/supplies, etc.
Skills
- Knowledge of the Automotive Manufacturing Industry (Desired)
- Knowledge of seating system / assembly (Desired)
- Leadership skill and the ability to motivate employees
- Basic knowledge of business economics
- Broad knowledge of OSHA and workplace health & safety
- Broad knowledge & understanding of quality systems
- Understanding of ASN, EDI, Material handling, inventory control, and logistics
- Broad knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Three (3) years proven work experience in automotive, manufacturing, or logistics environment as a production supervisor or team lead.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Business Administration or Manufacturing.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, bend at the knees and waist, and walk.
- Required to use hands to type, handle objects and paperwork.
- Required to reach and hold on to items at chest level or reach above the shoulder.
- May be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed.
- Ability to travel domestic US and/or international if needed.
