Independent Freight Broker/Agent (and/or Team)

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, coordinating and managing all aspects of freight transportation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and carriers to facilitate the efficient movement of freight.
• Utilize our state-of-the-art Transportation Management System (TMS), McLeod PowerBroker, to streamline operations and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of shipments.
• Negotiate competitive rates with carriers and ensure timely and cost-effective freight transportation.
• Collaborate with our experienced team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to provide knowledgeable and informed service to clients.

Requirements

• Possess a portable book of business with actively shipping customers, with a monthly gross profit minimum of $35,000, with established client and carrier relationships.
• Proven experience, with 2 or more years, as an Independent Freight Agent or Broker.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient in utilizing transportation management systems and technology.
• Able to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
