Job Description
The Incoming Inspector is responsible for quality inspection of incoming and shipping goods and sharing knowledge among all employees across the different production departments at stow. The role supports the Q&E system and ensures compliance with agreements, standards, and procedures.
- Motivate and ensure that all incoming parts are in accordance with stow QSHE standards.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner.
- Promote a Lean mindset and continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all activities and processes comply with QSHE standards, policies, work instructions, and local legislation.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience in steel fabrication, roll forming, structural steel, or welded racking manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, especially calipers and micrometers.
- Strong understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality inspection methods.
- Knowledge of welded steel fabrication inspection is preferred.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and inspection documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with multiple departments.
Preferred Skills
- Blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
- Experience inspecting roll formed steel products.
- Experience inspecting welded steel assemblies and pallet racking components.
