Income Tax Manager

About the role

This role ensures accurate preparation and maintenance of income tax records, returns, and reports to support compliance and financial integrity. It manages the preparation and review of income tax returns, payments, and provisions under various accounting standards including US GAAP and IFRS. The role involves analyzing complex income tax issues, conducting research, and supporting audits and legislative initiatives to inform tax strategies.

Responsibilities

• Manage preparation and review of income tax returns and related payments to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Analyze complex tax issues and conduct research to support tax strategy development and implementation
• Affiliate in preparation and review of quarterly tax provisions under US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
• Support audits, appeals, and legislative initiatives by preparing documentation and analysis
• Prepare management reports on tax matters and review tax accruals and reconciliations for accuracy
• Review and analyze transactions for tax implications and participate in strategic tax planning initiatives

Qualifications

• Education: Required: Bachelor's degree - plus 3 years of related work experience OR advanced degree with 1 year of related work experience OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
• Work Experience: Required: 4-7 years experience of progressively responsible tax experience in a US Federal and multi-state environment with emphasis on income tax compliance, research and planning.

Preferred

• Prior experience at a Big 4 firm (i.e., KPMG, Deloitte, PwC or EY).
• Acceptable areas of study include Accounting or related field
• Experience in tax compliance software
• Experience with Sharepoint, Alteryx and other data management systems
• SAP or Oracle
• AI Tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
• Telcommunications Industry Experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
