Inclusion Support Counselor – Summer Program
About the role
Camp Fire North Shore is seeking compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic Inclusion Support Counselors to support campers with social-emotional, behavioral, and inclusion needs within our Summer Camp programs. This role is designed to bridge the gap between Camp Counselors and Behavioral Technicians by providing direct support to campers who may require additional behavioral, emotional, or individualized support throughout the camp day.
Responsibilities
- Support the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all campers, with a focus on those needing additional behavioral or social-emotional support
- Auxiliary support to specific campers (1:1 or small group) in participating in daily camp activities
- Assist in following routines, transitions, and group expectations
- Provide prompting, redirection, encouragement, and positive reinforcement to support engagement and success
- Follow behavior support strategies developed by Behavioral Technicians or Camp Leadership
- Support campers in using self-regulation and calming strategies
- Assist in de-escalating behaviors using trained support strategies
- Communicate concerns, behavioral patterns, and observations to Behavioral Technicians and leadership
- Work closely with Camp Counselors to ensure all campers are included in activities
- Collaborate with Behavioral Technicians for support, guidance, and modeling
- Assist with toileting, hygiene, or daily living support as needed
- Lead or support activities as needed
- Ensure campers remain supervised, engaged, and safe at all times
- Auxiliary support with behavior or participation tracking when directed
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive teamwork
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience working with children required
- Experience supporting children with behavioral, social-emotional, or developmental needs preferred
- Interest in psychology, education, counseling, social work, ABA, or related fields preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible in fast-paced environments

Pay
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule
Part-Time | 25-30 Hours Per Week
Monday through Friday
Typical Summer Camp Shifts: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Schedules may vary slightly depending on site and program needs
