Summer Recreation Counselor

About the role

Community Unit School District 200 seeks applicants for High School Summer Recreation Program positions in various sports at Wheaton North High School and Wheaton Warrenville South High School. Effective January 1, 2022, the position pays $12.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision of students during program activities
• Teach and coach various sports including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track & field
• Ensure safety and compliance with all school policies and regulations
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience working with youth preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Pass a background check

Skills

• Knowledge of sports techniques and rules
• Leadership and team management skills
• First aid/CPR certification (preferred)
