About the role

Tandem Diabetes Care seeks an Inbound Pump Sales Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing inbound calls, converting leads to opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound queue calls, respond to inquiries, and place/receive sales calls to new and existing pump customers.
  • Support customers through the PIF process, understand and provide information on products and services, and create an excellent customer experience.
  • Assist in completing customer orders, verify insurance coverage, and document interactions in CRM system.
  • Maintain relationships with customers by administering aspects of the reimbursement process, verifying insurance benefits, collecting required documentation, coordinating shipments, and processing co-payments.
  • Communicate with potential customers via phone, email, SMS, and fax, explaining product operations and benefits, and generating sales.
  • Provide product education to customers and manage customer order status updates.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, and trade shows as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of diabetes, unmet needs of diabetes therapies, and benefits of insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring or other disease management devices/diagnostics.
  • Experience interfacing with customers in a sales support role, including field sales or telesales experience in medical device, technology, or similar fields.
  • Experience being accountable for sales quotas in a challenging, fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Experience in patient diabetes education.
  • Ability to apply distinctive phone sales skills and product knowledge to address and alleviate patient concerns and promote the sale of products.
  • Effective call handling skills and a proven track record of excellent customer service based on call handling or related metrics.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success.
  • Adept at seeing change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaigning for it when necessary.
  • Computer competency including MS Office, Internet, and navigation of customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
  • 1-year recent experience interfacing with customers in a sales support role.
  • Knowledge of durable medical equipment policies, health insurance providers, and reimbursement policies as it relates to diabetes supplies.

Skills

  • Adaptability to changing shifts on a Quarterly basis.
  • Knowledge of call handling phone systems is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base pay range: $20.50 - $22.50 per hour.
  • Quarterly target commission of up to $2,000, based on individual and team performance.
  • Annualized earning potential: $49,600 - $53,760.

Pay

The starting base hourly pay range for this position is $20.50 - $22.50.

Schedule

This position will work Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM PST.
