Position Summary

The Inbound Receiver is responsible for all merchandise unloaded inside the Distribution Center. They must ensure the load comes in the appropriate temperature and according to Cardenas Markets Receiving Policy. The Inbound Receiver also captures attributes for every pallet on the DC system and labels them accordingly.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure trailer is under safe and clean condition before unloading.
  • Confirm all POs are received according to their schedule and with the proper BOL.
  • Make sure the QTY matches on the bill of lading (BOL) and physically correct BOL if needed.
  • Ensure all staged products pass through the Quality Control department before BOL sign-in.
  • Ensure all Labels printed out are placed to the right corner of the corresponding pallet.
  • Email report of any PO received after receiving hours and/or without appointment.
  • Email Buyers regarding any rejected PO.
  • Sure the workstation and department are clean before end of shift.

Skills And Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Teamwork oriented and self-motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Good attendance and punctual; must show up on time and able to work scheduled shifts and mandatory overtime.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Electric pallet jack and reach experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Frequent lifting of material up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent twisting, turning, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Handle tools or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Use an electric pallet jack and reach is preferred.

Work Environment

  • Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production environment.
  • Exposed to work in a production setting and extreme temperatures (10 to 100 degrees).
  • Facility regularly processes known food allergens, including peanuts.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule that supports a 24-hour production facility.
  • Schedule may include weekends and overtime.
