About the role
The INACT Advanced Material Procurement Review Support specialist will provide advanced material procurement review support to PMS368, SEA05V, and NAVSEA 08, for the INACT advanced planning advanced material procurement plan. The RCOH Advanced Material Procurement Review Support specialist will be co-located with the SUPSHIP-NN RCOH project team.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze the HII-NNS submittal of the INACT CDRL deliverable of the Advanced Material Procurement Plan (AMPP) and provide an analysis of appropriateness for material types and quantity as presented in the AMPP to the SUPSHIPNN Project Team, PMS 368 APM and NAVESA 08 (as appropriate) as it relates to the Authorized Work Package (AWP) Item Work Sequence Schedule.
- Maintain working relationships with the SUPSHIPNN Project Team members and support organizations, the INACT Program Office (PMS368), NAVSEA 08, NAVSEA 05V Carrier Engineering Team (CET), Hunting Ingalls Industries - Newport News Shipbuilding, and NAVSEA 02.
- Monitor HII-NNS material procurement for the following attributes: timely ordering, material quantity validation, and budget analyses.
- Provide appropriate metrics and reports.
- Attend meetings with Government and shipyard project teams to monitor status of advanced material procurements and participate in Integrated Process Teams.
- Provide support for review and analysis of the shipbuilder’s parts catalog for Naval Stock Systems equivalents.
- Aid in the review of shipbuilder provided data for periodic INACT advanced planning technical instruction reconciliations and provide analysis and recommendations to the SUPSHIPNN Project Team, NAVSEA 08 and PMS 368 APM.
- Support working in conjunction with the technical production controllers for the review and evaluation of Cost Data Sheet bill of materials.
- Provide other advance material procurement related support activities as directed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with the Naval Supply Chain and ship repair supply chain management.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience with aircraft carrier maintenance and operations, shipbuilding/ship repair business analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Access, and PowerPoint (and Outlook).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- The educational requirement can be waved if the candidate is a former Chief Petty Officer or has equivalent experience.
