In Vivo Technologist II
About the Role
The Preclinical Pharmacology team runs preclinical studies for external customers in areas of Oncology, Neurobiology, and Autoimmune Diseases. As a Preclinical Technologist II, you will work under limited supervision, perform advanced bio-methods including complex tasks and highly developed procedures, and exercise independent judgement. You will also understand study timelines and communicate issues effectively. This role expects proactive contributions to team enhancement, such as mentoring, quality checks, lab organization for inspections, and understanding scientific content. Weekend shifts, holidays, and overtime may be required.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic and complex bio-methods as required by functional group and study needs, adhering to all SOPs, policies, and regulatory procedures.
- Ensure accurate data entry in lab IT systems and databases, maintaining appropriate documentation as required by protocols and SOPs.
- Train to perform procedures to proficiency levels and participate in the development of new procedures.
- Maintain lab sanitation, consumables, reagents, and equipment through calibration, validation, and monitoring.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Capable of performing a wide range of animal bio-methods and complex procedures.
- Experience operating lab equipment.
- Excellent communication, listening, and writing skills to effectively exchange information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and make decisions adhering to SOPs, policies, and regulatory procedures.
- Able to work in in vitro and in vivo environments, especially with animal handling.
- Ability to work flexible shifts (evening, weekend, holiday).
Qualifications
Education Required: High School Diploma
Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Experience Required: 3 years
Experience Preferred: 4 years
Pay
$23.64 - $39.58 per hour
