In-School Suspension Assistant

About the role

This position involves instructional and behavioral activities for students referred by the school principal or assistant principal for in-school suspension.

Responsibilities

• Work with urban and/or disadvantaged youth
• Provide instructional and behavioral activities
• Assist students referred for in-school suspension

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours)
• A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test
• Two (2) years of experience working with urban and/or disadvantaged youth
• Certification in CPR and First Aid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree: 4 years of education plus required years of experience
• Master’s Degree: 2 years of education plus required years of experience

Skills

• Ability to work with urban and/or disadvantaged youth
• Knowledge of instructional and behavioral activities
• Experience with in-school suspension procedures
