In-Person Hiring Event BRC Entry Level Position!

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe environment by assisting in monitoring the residential program for individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Engage individuals in an approachable and empathetic manner during rounds and address varied needs.
  • Manage conflict or challenging behaviors with self-awareness, emphasizing safety and building trust while understanding each person's unique experience.
  • Screens residents and visitors at the front door, creates written documentation including logbook entries, incident reports, and progress notes.
  • Manages inventory for supplies, conducts fire safety drills and logs, and provides emergency first aid, CPR assistance, and NARCAN when needed.
  • Assists with inspections and audits, escorts clients, serves meals as needed, and helps maintain an orderly and clean facility.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • CPR Certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
  • NYC Fire Safety Guard Certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
  • NYC Fire Safety Coordinator Certification preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification.
  • Security guard license preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire license.
  • Food Handler Certificate preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification.
  • TB clearance when required.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred.
  • Effectively communicate with others both in writing and orally.
  • Able to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Basic computer literacy required.
  • Bilingual abilities a plus.
  • Vaccination preferred but not required.
