In-House Mortgage Lender

About the role

The In-House Mortgage Lender position at Zions Bancorporation is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and helping customers achieve their financial goals. This role is eligible to earn a base salary ranging from $15.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and location, plus a commission based on financed loans.

Responsibilities

• Solicits and brings in mortgage business through contacts, relationships, and referrals from real estate agents, builders, developers, and branches.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines in loan originator duties.
• Interviews potential applicants to gather information about their needs, desires, and other relevant details.
• Obtains and reviews pertinent financial and credit data.
• Aids customers in understanding loan types and interest rate options, locks in interest rates as needed, prepares and sends initial disclosures, and submits information to automated underwriting software.
• Maintains timely re-disclosures to customers.
• Orders appraisals through the system, arranges for title searches, and obtains necessary documents.
• Communicates with customers throughout the loan process and works with processors during closing.
• Originates residential home loans.
• Keeps informed of local real estate market trends and changes in mortgage laws and regulations.
• Develops and maintains internal relationships to facilitate cross-selling of other bank products.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent, with some years of sales experience and extensive knowledge of residential loan and bank products.
• Extensive knowledge of mortgage lending, processing, credit analysis, and mortgage laws and regulations.
• Ability to successfully solicit loans and solve problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and communicate effectively.
• Basic knowledge of computer software, including mortgage-specific software.
