It supports defense contractors involved in manufacturing critical aerospace and defense components, such as fighter jet parts, naval propulsion systems, and satellite payloads. By assisting these clients in achieving CMMC compliance and securely managing Microsoft cloud environments, the organization helps ensure operational readiness within a highly regulated and security-focused sector. The team is currently expanding to meet growing demand.

About the Opportunity

The In-House Full-Time Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records to support the organization's operations. This remote position involves managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling transactions, and providing detailed financial schedules. The role is pivotal in ensuring financial data integrity and facilitating smooth month-end close processes, which are essential for informed decision-making and organizational compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bill payments, and transaction categorization
  • Manage and reconcile corporate card and spend activity, ensuring transactions are matched to receipts with correct coding
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations across bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies
  • Post manual journal entries such as accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and adjustments with supporting documentation
  • Reconcile vendor statements against internal payments and resolve unmatched or aged items
  • Support month-end close activities and provide well-documented schedules for review

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident residing in the United States
  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or transactional accounting experience
  • Proficiency with cloud accounting software and professional services automation tools such as Autotask
  • Experience with spend-management platforms
  • Ability to reconcile online payment processors including understanding net-of-fee deposits, batch settlement timing, refunds, and chargebacks
  • Strong general ledger reconciliation skills
  • Solid understanding of manual journal entries and double-entry accounting
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills including lookups, pivot tables, filtering, sorting, and conditional logic
  • Ability to clean and organize inconsistent or messy data
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to document work clearly in a remote work environment

Pay Range and Compensation Package

USD 60000 - USD 85000 yearly
