About CLI Studios

We are a group of unique, diverse, and creative individuals who deeply believe in the transformative power of the performing arts. We are on a mission to make dance education more accessible to aspirational students around the world using a mix of technology, innovative thinking, and an amazing mission-driven team! Through our online training program, dancers worldwide can take over 1,500 classes from top dance instructors from New York and Los Angeles. For more advanced students, we offer the CLI Conservatory, an extensive in-person training program where dancers launch their professional careers with training and support from over 100 world-renowned choreographers. Our team is a collaboration between world-class performing artists (e.g., multi-season stars from So You Think You Can Dance), technologists, startup operators, and more. How You Will Make an Impact

Dance Faculty Assistants work with CLI Conservatory choreographers, the CLI Conservatory operations team, and the CLI Conservatory Artistic Director, Teddy Forance. You will be curious about how you approach your work and not afraid to act fast and confidently find solutions to challenges. You will be someone who can work collaboratively but also thrives in taking the initiative independently. You’ll also be up for the adventure of working at an early-stage startup, which means you are ready and willing to wear multiple hats when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide support during dance classes by assisting choreographers and students as needed.
• Assist with rehearsals and preparation for performances.
• Collaborate with CLI faculty in developing and workshopping new choreography.
• Support the CLI Conservatory Intensives team on the Fall, Winter, and Summer Intensives, as needed.
• Work with the operations team on Admitted Students weekends for upcoming Conservatory students to experience the Conservatory.
• Assist the operations team on day-to-day Conservatory initiatives such as general studio operations and opening/closing studios each day.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
• Demonstrated skill in collaborating effectively across the organization.
• Ability to work well independently and in collaboration with others.
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
• Familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced-level dancer with a minimum of 1 year of experience assisting choreographers and their dance classes.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a professional office and dance studio environment. This is largely a physically active role requiring the ability to dance for long periods of time, in addition to the ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PCs, laptops, and/or telephones.

Pay

The pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.

Schedule

Seasonal, part-time. Onsite at CLI during Conservatory in Southampton, MA.

Travel Requirements

You will be expected to travel as needed for Conservatory dance projects, Conservatory training events, and recruiting events around the country.
