Front of House Event Staff
Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs various duties in connection with scheduled events. Duties typically include acting as a floor supervisor, area attendant, check-in staff, or other roles based on the needs of the event.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise other event staff personnel, volunteers, and third-party contract staff.
- Provide necessary training and information to ensure that staff and volunteers remain well informed of the day’s events.
- Cook with supervisor to ensure the event’s specific requirements are met.
- Serve as ticket taker and/or usher.
- Activities may include distributing programs, taking tickets, and escorting patrons to their appropriate seats.
- Work in the box office as needed.
- Sell tickets, handle will call, and assist guests at the box office window.
- Aid with concessions cash, check drawers in and out to cashiers, balance drawers, and prepare deposits.
- Address patron issues and complaints.
- Aid with last-minute pre-event needs, such as setting up, decorating, finding materials, etc.
- Provide special accommodation for patrons in wheelchairs and other physically challenged guests.
- Aid with relocating patrons due to floor closures, maintenance issues, double-seating issues, etc.
- Sell tickets and/or passes to premium experiences.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D. One (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Experience in the performing arts or events industry is preferred.

Working Conditions
Location: On Site at The Buddy Holly Hall, Lubbock, Texas
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, during events, the noise level may be loud
Physical Demands: Ability to navigate a variety of floor surfaces and areas, including continuous standing and walking, including up and down stairs. Ability to work in a variety of environments, including but not limited to heights, elevators, darkened arena, around crowds, loud noise, and flashing lights. Continuous standing and walking, including up and down stairs. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
