About This Role Greenlink Energy Solutions is seeking an In-House Counsel to support the company’s growing commercial operations and strategic initiatives. This role will serve as a trusted legal advisor to leadership, helping guide contract development, regulatory compliance, risk management, and business operations. The position will work across multiple functions—including development, operations, finance, and partnerships—to ensure Greenlink’s projects and programs are structured effectively and executed in accordance with applicable laws and contractual obligations. What You’ll Do Contract & Commercial Legal Support Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, subcontractor agreements, and partnership arrangementsProvide legal guidance on contract structure, risk allocation, and commercial termsSupport the development of standardized contract templates and internal legal processes Regulatory & Compliance Interpret applicable regulations, policies, and program requirements affecting energy, construction, and public funding initiativesHelp ensure company operations remain compliant with state, federal, and industry regulationsAssist leadership in identifying and mitigating legal and operational risks Grant & Program Oversight Provide legal oversight and compliance support for public funding programs, including a state-funded Illinois DCEO grant initiativeEnsure contractual, reporting, and audit requirements are met throughout the lifecycle of funded programsSupport communication with state agencies and program partners when needed Internal Advisory & Cross-Functional Support Act as a legal resource for leadership and internal teams on business, contractual, and operational mattersSupport policy development and internal governance processesHelp build scalable legal and compliance frameworks as the company grows What You’ll Bring Juris Doctor (JD) and an active license to practice law (or ability to obtain Illinois licensure) 3+ years of experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory, or public-sector legal workStrong experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and agreements Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business guidanceStrong organizational, communication, and analytical skillsComfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Preferred / Nice to Have Experience in energy, infrastructure, construction, or environmental law Familiarity with public funding programs, government contracts, or grant compliance Experience supporting growing companies or startups Interest in clean energy, sustainability, or climate-related initiatives Why Join Greenlink?
