In-House Architect / Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform Construction Management / Owner’s Representative duties on development projects.
• Conduct due diligence, including field inspections, and monitor ongoing projects. Analyze and approve requests for construction progress payments.
• Provide plan, specification, budget and design consulting for new developments and alterations.
• Advise on property conditions as they relate to suitability for investment and collateral.
• Report to Chief Architect and work with other professionals in the Real Estate Investment Group.

Requirements

• 8 years of experience in property inspection, cost estimating, design review, and project management.
• Experience inspecting and assessing the physical condition and costs for property types including offices, industrial buildings, retail and multifamily.
• Familiarity with site and environmental conditions impacting development and use, including seismic risk and resiliency.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of design, construction and building systems for investment property types.
• Knowledge of site & civil conditions, structural systems, building enclosure, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), fire protection, life safety and vertical transportation systems.
• Familiarity with environmental and seismic risk assessment and energy conservation practices as well as LEED and other sustainability designations.
