In-Home Installation Technician

About the role

As an In-Home Installation Technician, you’ll deliver, install, integrate, and troubleshoot tech products such as home theater, computing, smart home, and networking. You’ll also provide tailored solutions based on customers’ lifestyles and technology needs through conversations. You’ll collaborate with other Geek Squad Agents, service partners, retail employees, and supply chain teams to support Best Buy’s strategy and yearly initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide a seamless customer experience by advising and fulfilling lifestyle recommendations for products and services.
• Perform delivery, installation, integration, networking, and troubleshooting of consumer electronics devices.
• Lead two-person jobs and work independently as needed.
• Manage inventory, vehicle maintenance, paperwork, and payment processing.
• Provide feedback, participate in training, and adhere to safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a current, valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets Best Buy safety standards.
• Ability to acquire and maintain any state or local licensing required to perform the job effectively within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation and up to 150 pounds as part of a team with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to lift up to 250 pounds as part of a team using support tools such as harnesses or lifts.
• 6 months of experience in consumer electronics delivery, installation, integration, and troubleshooting.
• 6 months of customer service experience.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in installation, integration, and troubleshooting of advanced or complex consumer electronics products (preferred).
