About the role

As a Visiting Angels In-Home Housekeeper or Caregiver, you will enrich clients' quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervising clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments or errands

Opportunities for advanced training in areas like dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care are available for caregivers seeking to broaden their skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for client transport
• Minimum 2 years of professional caregiving experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Training in First Aid and emergency response (provided if needed)
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties
• Reliable transportation to scheduled client visits
• Physical endurance for tasks like carrying groceries and supporting clients
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to dietary constraints
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (including background check)
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days
