RemoteRemoteHealthcarePart-time

About the role

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring an In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarian to serve pet families across Tulsa, Oakhurst, Catoosa, and Turley, Oklahoma. This role offers the opportunity to practice medicine without a waiting room, double-booked schedules, or corporate production metrics. You’ll have the time to provide compassionate care to families and their pets in a private, family-owned, and doctor-led practice that does not use non-compete contracts.

Who thrives here

This role is ideal for veterinarians who excel at having meaningful, difficult conversations and find fulfillment in end-of-life care. If you’ve ever wished for more time during euthanasia appointments, this position is designed for you. It’s perfect for experienced doctors looking to step away from the fast pace of general or emergency practice while staying in the field, as well as for those returning from a break or building a schedule around family commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
  • Work independently in a mobile environment.
  • Maintain professional communication with the team and families.
  • Exude compassion, dignity, and respect in all interactions.
  • Participate in rotational weekend availability.
  • Lift up to 45 lbs unassisted as needed.

Requirements

  • DVM, VMD, or BVMS degree.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Benefits

  • Compensation: Competitive pay with a self-managed schedule, generous production, and bonus opportunities.
  • Financial & Insurance: Mileage reimbursement, 401(k), medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and additional insurance offerings.
  • Wellbeing: Wellness support resources and pet insurance.
  • Time & Growth: Paid time off (full-time), paid bereavement leave (full-time), continuing education allowance and time, ongoing mentorship, and professional development.
  • No non-compete agreement—your career remains yours.
