In-home Development Specialist/Skills Trainer

Join our mission to empower individuals with disabilities! We are looking for a part-time In-Home Skills Trainer to work afternoon shifts in the Peabody, MA area. This role involves providing personalized services to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in their homes and communities.
Who We Are
Bridging Independent Living Together, Inc. (BILT, Inc.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with varying disabilities. We help people aged 3 to 65 achieve greater independence by teaching essential life skills, securing employment, facilitating community outings, and providing respite care and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal care, hygiene, household maintenance, food shopping, meal preparation, budgeting, and social skills development.
- Provide ongoing support, role modeling, and guidance in improving personal responsibility, community living skills, and socialization.
- Facilitate leisure activities and encourage engagement in social and recreational activities.
- Transport individuals to appointments, work, and recreational outings.
- Document daily notes on program participants' progress and any changes.
- Attend review meetings, trainings, and other related appointments as required.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Car and valid driver’s license (required; mileage reimbursement provided).
- Clean driving record (required).
- Ability to pass a CORI and other background checks.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to helping others.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
- Ability to be on your feet and active for hours at a time, including accompanying clients for walks, gym sessions, swimming, music, shopping, and other activities.
- Comfortable driving clients to and from various locations as needed.

Schedule
This role is part-time with a focus on afternoon sessions. General availability is Monday through Sunday, 9 AM to 7 PM, with flexibility to craft a schedule within those hours, including unconventional shifts.
Work location: In-person, primarily in clients' homes in the Peabody, MA area, with occasional travel to the Woburn headquarters.
