Avenues Home Care of Tennessee serves the Knoxville area, including Sevierville, Knoxville, Cherokee Hills, Pigeon Ford, and surrounding communities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as specified in the client’s plan of care, including but not limited to:
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, and other personal hygiene
- Toileting, transferring, eating, and continence care
- Provide medication assistance, housekeeping services, laundry, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, and transportation to and from appointments
- Offer companionship and perform other household tasks as outlined in the client’s plan of care
- Report daily activity to your supervisor through the agency management system, daily activity logs, and other communication methods (phone, email, agency app, or in-person)
- Practice safety in all client-related activities
- Lift or push up to 50 pounds as required
- Demonstrate honesty, accountability, and integrity in all duties
- Provide superior care and remain vigilant of any changes in the client’s condition
- Maintain a professional personal appearance in compliance with Avenues Home Care policies and dress code
- Report for shifts on time and communicate scheduling changes promptly
- Report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately through the proper chain of command, as required by law
- Document unusual behaviors, events, conditions, or individuals
- Maintain confidentiality of all records, correspondence, and client information
- Attend meetings and in-services as requested
- Abide by all company policies and procedures, including those related to HIPAA and confidentiality
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written assignments
- Proficiency with the Homecare Company Management System—ClearCare
- Must be able to explain and demonstrate essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Maintain an established work schedule
- Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and planning skills with attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials
- Must be “Fit for Duty” and possess:
- 18 years of age or older
- A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
- Reliable transportation
- Preferred qualifications:
- CNA License or alternate experience as a caregiver
- CPR & First Aid Certifications
- Prior experience assisting with ADLs or caring for elderly, disabled, and other vulnerable clients
Skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy
- Organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations
Schedule
- Full Time
- Part Time
- 8, 10, or 12 Hour Shifts
- PRN (as needed)
