Responsibilities

Companion Caregivers act as friends who may perform safety checks, help prepare meals, pick out clothes, play games, run errands, do light housekeeping, and generally try to make someone smile. Personal Caregivers go a step further by assisting seniors with bathing, dressing, brushing teeth, medication reminders, and general mobility around the house.

Requirements

• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and assist with transfers safely
• Strong bedside manner and respectful communication
• Dependable and punctual — reliability is crucial
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive
• Valid driver's license
• At least 18 years old

Qualifications

• Experience caring for a family member
• Full-time parent or homemaker
• Worked in an assisted living facility, skilled nursing, senior home, or senior center as a caretaker
• Background as a teacher or child care worker
• Retired and wanting to give back
• Certifications such as CNA, HHA, or PCA (preferred but not required)
