In-Home Care Aide - Per-Diem

About the role

The In-Home Care Aide provides direct care and support for the client’s physical and emotional needs within their home environment. This position is essential to the health and well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in the activities of daily living including, but not limited to transfers, ambulation, bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, personal hygiene, and activities as appropriate.
• Entertains, converses with, or reads aloud to clients to assist in keeping them mentally healthy and alert.
• Performs a variety of duties as requested by the client, such as obtaining household supplies and running errands in a prompt manner.
• Plans, prepares, and serves meals to clients as needed.
• Provides companionship to doctor’s appointments and other engagements as needed.
• Promptly reports client changes and any unusual occurrences to the supervisor.
• Accurately documents required data in a timely manner using appropriate forms.
• Fulfills established performance standards and performs duties according to facility policies and procedures.
• Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates appropriate action immediately, while maintaining the client’s safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Willingness to provide the highest level of customer and personal service to clients in a respectful and caring manner.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently requiring only minimal supervision.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform basic household tasks.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR.
