In-Home Aide II
About the role
The position of In-Home Aide II is available within Watauga County Project on Aging. This role involves providing home-based care to elderly and disabled adults. The ideal candidate should have graduated from high school and hold a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. Some experience in homemaking and/or basic health care, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide home-based care to elderly and disabled adults
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
- Monitor and record vital signs as necessary
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in the client's living environment
- Communicate regularly with clients' families and healthcare providers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CNA certification
- Experience in homemaking and/or basic health care
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical stamina and mobility
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR
- Basic knowledge of health care procedures
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Pay
The starting salary for this position is $43,394 annually, which translates to approximately $20.86 per hour.
Schedule
Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no nights or weekends.
