In Home Aide Full-time

Richmond County Government is seeking a Full-Time In Home Aide.

Responsibilities

• Providing basic home management services for the clients assigned including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing dishes, making the bed, laundry, running errands, and preparation of simple meals
• Completing required paperwork on each client daily
• Recognizing and reporting changes in client health and environment
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Observing and reporting indicators of abuse, neglect, or illness
• Arranging transportation for medical appointments
• Identifying medication for clients
• Performing any other duties assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; or high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of work experience as an In Home Aide level I; or nursing assistant certificate (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and a vehicle for use during work hours
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a clean criminal record
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, capable of maintaining accurate and up-to-date files
• Ability to handle money responsibly
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with staff, Board of Directors, older adult clients, and the general public in both one-on-one and group settings
• Capable of working responsibly with confidential information

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, stand, walk, and stoop
• Ability to lift 30-40 pounds on occasion

Schedule

Maximum of 40 hours per week.
