In-Classroom Primary Assistant

About the Role
The Primary Assistant must set an example for the students, both in conduct and in presentation, in accordance with the rules of the Lycée Français de New York. They must also be reliable and punctual, playing a key role in the function of the preschool. Patience and understanding are essential for working with young children. The Primary Assistant must show flexibility in their schedule to respond to occasional unexpected circumstances during the day and may be required to attend after-school meetings if necessary.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the students’ safety at all times
- Enforce rules and regulations
- Work with one main class with teachers and students
- Be flexible and reassigned to different classes/duties as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, administration, and other assistants
- Use open and honest communication to maintain a healthy working team
- Get along with diverse personalities

Qualifications
- Proficiency in both French and English languages
- Familiarity and understanding of the Lycée's multicultural environment

Pay
The annual base salary being offered is commensurate with experience, based on our internal salary grid and starts at $43,998.
Schedule
Work schedule is based on students' schedule and may be adjusted from time to time by the Lycée in accordance with its needs.
