What You’ll Do

  • Support the import operations by preparing and processing import documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate the smooth entry of goods into the country.
  • Prepare and process import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure all documents are accurate and comply with import regulations and company policies.
  • Verify that import shipments comply with relevant regulations and laws.
  • Stay informed about changes in import regulations and update procedures accordingly.
  • Collaborate with leads and other agents to ensure proper clearance of goods through customs.
  • Prepare and execute documents for U.S. Customs and other government agencies to obtain proper release and duty payment as required.
  • Address and resolve issues related to delays, missing documentation, or compliance problems.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior team members or management as needed.
  • Ensure billing is accurate and timely.
  • Enter and update information in the company's import management systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all systems used for import processing.
  • Stay informed on various legal requirements to maintain compliance under import/export regulations worldwide.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Receive guidance for overall objectives and work with operations within company and department policies and guidelines using independent judgment to achieve assigned objectives.

What You’ll Bring

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel and ten-key skills.
  • CEC or CCE helpful.
  • LCL helpful.
  • Ability to manage time and work efficiently.
  • Understanding of customs process.
  • Language Skills: Relies on written and verbal communication.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Specific Skills: Must possess a current valid driver’s license.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Prioritize, organize and delegate assignments.
