Import Agent II

Responsibilities

• Manage the importation of goods by air, including securing customs release and delivery to the final destination
• Break down consolidated freight shipments into house airway bills while ensuring accuracy of shipment data and AMS details
• Communicate with airlines, customs agents, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Track shipments and provide updates to customers as needed
• Prepare and submit required documentation to Customs Brokerage team (internal and external), including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork
• Manage relationships with customers and provide customer service
• Handle accounting processes as they apply to the break bulk department - prints invoices for HAWB amends incorrect air freight rates, transfer fees; revises prepaid/collect charges, files claims in case of damaged goods
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field
• Experience in Imports is highly desirable

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates
• Other Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Attention to detail and accuracy, Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
