About the role
The Implementation Consultant plays a critical role in delivering successful client implementations by acting as a strong business analyst and liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role focuses heavily on requirements gathering, documentation, and analytical problem-solving, with an understanding of technical concepts that support effective solution delivery to ensure maximizing client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements
- Author and maintain high-quality project documentation, including: Business and functional requirements documents, Implementation and configuration documentation, Process flows and data mappings
- Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements with an understanding of underlying technical concepts
- Support implementation activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment between client needs and delivered solutions
- Act as a subject-matter resource during implementations, particularly within Chorus and Retirement Services
- Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies; propose practical, well-documented solutions
- Participate in project and implementation meetings to clarify requirements and support issue resolution
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, developers, and other technical resources without serving as a primary PM or technical engineer
Requirements
- Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in an implementation, preferably within the financial services or retirement industry
- Proven experience in: Requirements gathering and stakeholder interviews, Writing detailed technical and business documentation, Strong analytical skills with the ability to decompose complex problems
- Working knowledge of Chorus and Retirement Services platforms
- Hands-on experience supporting or participating in project implementations
- Solid understanding of basic technical concepts (e.g., data flows, system integrations), without requiring deep technical specialization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Prior experience at SS&C, DST, BFDS, or a related organization (strongly preferred for lead-level roles)
- Exposure to Agile methodologies (helpful but not required)
- Experience working in financial services, retirement, or recordkeeping environments
