About the role

This position supports a Neuroscience Biomarkers client team, developing and validating immunoassay-based methods to identify and quantify biomarkers associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. The role offers hands-on experience in immunoassay workflows for serum, plasma, CSF, sample lysate, and tissue biomarker studies within a collaborative research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate novel immunoassay-based biomarker methods for clinical trials in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, and rare brain disorders.
  • Collaborate with project team leads to perform experiments supporting preclinical and clinical characterization of therapeutic molecules through biomarker assay development.
  • Plan and execute immunoassay method development, optimization, validation, and sample analyses from preclinical and clinical cohorts.
  • Conduct laboratory work, summarize results, and report method status to internal partners.
  • Implement assay validation procedures to deliver high-performance biomarker assays for preclinical and clinical sample analyses.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences field with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience utilizing ELISA and MSD.
  • Strong understanding of immunoassay principles (e.g., antibodies, ligand-based molecules, assay design), protein biomarker quantification, and assay validation.
  • Hands-on experience in protein biomarker applications (e.g., clinical diagnostics, clinical trials, or preclinical sample analysis).
  • Experience working with human or animal specimens (tissue and biofluids such as plasma, serum, and CSF) under BSL-2 or equivalent safety conditions.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with clinical sample analysis using immunoassay methods.
  • Proficiency in additional qualitative (e.g., electrophoresis techniques, Western blot) and quantitative (e.g., Ella, Simoa, NULISA, SpearBio) immunoassay-based analyses.
  • Experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI), and/or Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) validation standards.

Pay

$36.00–$41.00 per hour based on education and related experience.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with overtime as needed. Candidates within commutable distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
