About the role

The Immigration Consultant supports Paralegals, Senior Paralegals, and Attorneys in email/phone communications. They provide limited guidance on proprietary systems and case processing, input client services rendered, and relay concerns to the appropriate team member. They also manage case statuses, prepare documents for attorney review, and perform research to obtain necessary information.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and manages client services rendered for accounting processing.
  • Processes basic corporate immigration cases.
  • Escalates concerns to the appropriate BAL team member(s).
  • Shares process flow with assignees.
  • Performs research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, standard processing times, etc.
  • Initiates contact with government agencies to obtain necessary information and alert Senior Paralegal and/or attorney of potential process delays/problems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree OR 2 years of related business experience.
  • Superb organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take actions independently.
  • Ability to manage cases and work within strict timelines.
  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to proofread and edit one’s own work product.
  • General computer knowledge and typing skills, including word-processing, email, and forms software.
  • Professional, respectful attitude towards all coworkers.
  • Able to receive and analyze information.
  • Able to share information with office members.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Scan/Copy, and effective utilization of VB and Cobalt.
