About the role

The Immersive Simulation Technician provides technical support for immersive simulation activities, ensuring equipment, media, computers, and materials are prepared and maintained. This role assists learners and the Immersive Simulation Facilitator with simulation work and lab preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for operations to ensure all equipment runs properly and efficiently.
  • Offer technical operational support for all systems and equipment related to immersive simulation.
  • Assist with training faculty in the use of simulation equipment and serve as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Lab to maintain inventory of supplies and equipment for simulation.
  • Support and assist in props placement and moulage set-up to create a virtual healthcare setting.
  • Assist with the development of scenarios used for simulation experiences.
  • Provide occasional weekend and/or evening coverage as needed.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.

Requirements

  • Granted diploma or certification relative to background experience (e.g., medical assistant diploma).
  • Two or more years of patient care experience as a Paramedic, Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), Simulation Technician, or any other licensed healthcare provider preferred.
  • Two years of related experience in a clinical healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pharmacology, and equipment.
  • Unencumbered FL LPN or RN Licensure or FL Certification helpful but not required.

Schedule

Onsite Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
