About the role

Performs diagnostic imaging of patients. Keeps abreast of new and approved methods of imaging through independent study and continuing education. Assists in file room as needed, assists physicians in obtaining records, properly identifies records and images, exercises proper use and care of equipment, reports equipment failure, and maintains a clean and orderly work area. Non-essential functions include other duties as assigned.

• Assist in the file room as needed
• Assist physicians in obtaining records
• Properly identify records and images
• Exercise proper use and care of equipment; report equipment failure
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited educational program of radiologic technology
• Knowledge of filing and reporting systems, the imaging process, and current developments in imaging
• Understanding of hospital functions, policies and procedures, and regulations as they relate to imaging service
• For staff involved in the care of age-specific groups, knowledge of the bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients is essential
• Special knowledge in growth and development needs of pediatric/geriatric patients where applicable
• Previous experience desirable

Qualifications

• Current registration as a diagnostic technologist in radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Currently certified (or scheduled for certification/recertification training according to department guidelines) in life support programs specific to unit(s) worked (CPR, ACLS, NALS)
