Imaging Tech Assistant
Job Summary
As an Imaging Assistant, you would assist technologists working all modalities within the Imaging Department, including: X-Ray, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. You will prep and screen patients prior to imaging exams/procedures.
Responsibilities
- Aid in diagnostic exams and perform clerical duties including record keeping.
- Maintain high quality services and adhere to established protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate work assignments to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Resolve conflicts and endure the pressures of a constantly changing work environment.
- Assist with imaging exams on various age groups and perform patient assessments within the scope of practice.
- Set up the imaging room to coincide with the examination being performed, using proper isolation precautions when necessary.
- Verify two patient identifiers and explain all studies to patients in a clear manner.
- Safely transfer patients to and from carts, beds, and wheelchairs using multiple lifting devices.
- Position patients to ensure comfort and modesty during imaging exams.
- Support patient care by exhibiting a caring attitude, engaging in professional and ethical conduct, maintaining a clean and orderly room, accurately recording patient exams, and following proper billing procedures.
- Rotate within departments and clinics for proper coverage and notify appropriate staff when equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- High School Graduate / GED.
- No travel required.
