About the role
The Supervisor, Nuclear Medicine is responsible for providing professional leadership and day-to-day supervision of all nuclear medicine operations and clinical activities within the assigned facility or facilities. This role oversees scheduling, workflow management, image quality, radiopharmaceutical handling and inventory, radiation safety program compliance, and equipment performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple tasks and schedules to maintain flexibility in a constantly changing environment
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and high quality delivery of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging services across the continuum of care
- Oversee nuclear medicine scheduling, workflow management, image quality, radiopharmaceutical handling and inventory, radiation safety program compliance, and equipment performance
- Assist with the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of daily nuclear medicine operations
- Prepare short and long range goals and objectives for review and approval
- Provide direct oversight to nuclear medicine technologist and imaging support coworkers across all assigned functional areas
- Be responsible for the orientation, training, performance feedback, and professional development of assigned coworkers
- Collaborate with radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, clinical leadership, and administrative leadership to support quality improvement initiatives, operational efficiency, radiation safety compliance, and patient satisfaction
- Exercise independent judgment in managing day-to-day nuclear medicine operations and the execution of established departmental objectives
Requirements
- Strong Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, schedules and ability to maintain flexibility in a constantly changing environment
- Valid CNMT, ARRT(N) or NMTCB license
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Nuc Med or Rad Tech
- Current BLS certification
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience
- PET/CT experience preferred
Skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and schedules
- Experience in nuclear medicine and/or radiology
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements
