About the role
The Imaging Services Tech Assistant role at UPMC East is a full-time position offering a competitive benefits package and professional development opportunities. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, clerical and computer experience, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Transports patient to and from unit when required.
- Demonstrate proper placement of IV catheter and knowledge of GFR criteria.
- Assists with invasive procedure tray set-up and courier specimens to lab as needed.
- Follows established MRI and radiation safety protocols.
- Schedules exams into RIS as needed and reschedules exams as necessary.
- Aids technologists in patient care and flow as instructed.
- Verifies patient identity using at least two identifiers, prepares patient for exam, documents history, and contacts office for additional information as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Clerical and computer experience.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Licenses: Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73 FBI Clearance.
