About the role

The Imaging Services Coordinator (ISC) II is a mission-critical position responsible for departmental administrative tasks under the direction of the Manager and Supervisor of Imaging Support Services. This role involves patient reception duties, organizing materials for imaging procedures, reviewing complex patient appointment sets, and ordering lab work or additional tests. The ISC II works in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, managing multiple real-time priorities and acting as an escalation point for issues at main reception. The role serves as an ambassador of the DFCI patient experience, ensuring efficient patient check-in, uploading outside imaging into PACS, and providing exemplary customer service during face-to-face and telephone interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to incoming add-on requests in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Monitor multiple scheduling reports to ensure accuracy in patient scheduling and optimization of resource utilization.
  • Oversee the training of new team members as requested.
  • In the absence of the ISC Lead, assume daily report needs, communicate with Modality Managers/Supervisors and Charge Nurse, and monitor modality schedules.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and resolve complex customer service and scheduling issues.
  • Function as a content expert in scheduling appointment types.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • In the absence of a modality Program Coordinator, serve as a back-up for scheduling exams.
  • Perform patient reception duties, including organizing materials for imaging procedures and reviewing complex patient appointment sets.
  • Upload outside imaging into PACS and provide exemplary customer service during interactions.
  • Provide wheelchair escort services as part of patient contact responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of Imaging experience at Dana-Farber or relevant healthcare administration experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and function as an integral team member.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and toggle between multiple systems.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Special Working Conditions

This role operates in a fast-paced, clinical environment with multiple visual and auditory distractions. The position requires the ability to operate a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment. While performing duties, the employee may occasionally stand, sit, walk, use hands to handle objects, and reach with hands and arms.

Pay

$51,000.00 - $58,200.00 per year.
