Imaging Intern

Under the direction of the Manager, performs diagnostic x-ray procedures requiring direct supervision. Always works under the direction of a registered Radiologic Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Identifies each patient and reviews each patient’s requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and physician’s order.
• Prepares patient for examination and explains procedure while performing studies.
• Records pertinent data on radiologic requisition (e.g., tech initials, explanation for limited exam, patient complaint).
• Reviews each exam for technical accuracy upon completion.
• Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification.
• Consults with staff technologist when needed.
• Uses appropriate devices to obtain a permanent record of examination.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) to two (2) years of formal education or training beyond High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed one (1) year of a two (2) year accredited radiology training program; has not yet graduated.
• BLS Certification.

Schedule

• Per Diem
• Variable daily work times
• No on-call requirement
• Weekends required
